PREAMBLE

The Government of Rajasthan issues the following instructions for the admission of candidates to various Medical Colleges in Rajasthan:-

Rule - 1. Number of seats .

The total number of admissions to five Medical Colleges in Rajasthan will not be more than 550 per year.

Rule - 2. Reservations.

(a)      Fifteen seats (3 seats each in the Medical Colleges of Rajasthan) are reserved for students from abroad/other States nominated by Government of India.

(b)      Five seats are reserved for the students whose parents migrated from Burma and other countries, in or after the year 1963 and are registered as migrants in Rajasthan (one seat in each Medical College).

(c)      Five seats are reserved for students from other States of Indian Union on a reciprocal basis to be nominated by the State Government.

(d)      8% seats are reserved for natural born candidates belonging to scheduled castes and 6% for natural born candidates belonging to scheduled tribes as notified in the Presidential Order for the State of Rajasthan and who fulfill conditions as laid down in rule 3 below These reservations in each category will also include the natural born candidates belonging to the scheduled castes/scheduled tribes who are admitted .on merit for general seats.

A candidate must produce a certificate signed by an Officer not below the rank of District Magistrate/Additional District Magistrate in proof of his/her being a natural born member of scheduled castes/tribes as notified in the Presidential Order for the State of Rajasthan and that he/she fulfils conditions as laid down in rule 3 below. The reservation mentioned above can be interchanged, if sufficient number of candidates are not available to fill up the seats reserved for either categories i.e. natural born Schedule Castes, natural born Scheduled tribes. If the number of qualified candidates belonging to natural born scheduled castes/tribes are not sufficient to cover the above reservation, a maximum of 10 reserved seats in a year may be carried forward to the subsequent year.

(e)      25% of the seats, excluding seats reserved in clause (a) above are reserved for girl candidates. If eligible and suitable girl candidates from natural born scheduled castes/tribes are not available, these seats will be filled by the male candidates of natural-born scheduled castes/tribes.

(f)       In case the reserved seats are not filled in a particular category, the unfilled seats will be transferred to general seats.

Rule - 3. Eligibility .

A candidate must fulfill the following conditions for admission to Medical Colleges. However, those who are .covered under category (a), (b) and (c) of rule 2 for them sub-rule (a) of this rule will not be applicable.

(a)      He/she has studied for last three years continuously as a regular candidate in recognised institution in Rajasthan.

OR

His/her natural father or natural mother has continuously resided in RAjasthan for a period of last 10 years, and he/she has studied at least for 5 years in a recognised Educational Institution in Rajasthan.

OR

He/she is a son/daughter of an serving or retired employee of-

(i)       Government of Rajasthan including Officer of All India Services born on the State Cadre of Rajasthan. 

OR

(ii)      Undertakings/Corporations/Improvement Trusts/Municipal Boards/ Panchayat Samities/Co-operative Bodies, duly constituted by the Government of Rajasthan.

OR

(iii)     Statutory bodies and Corporations formed under the Indian Companies Act incorporated in Rajasthan.

OR

(iv)    [2](He/she is a son/daughter of an employee of any of the Universities in Rajasthan or Higher Secondary Board of Education (Rajasthan), who has put in atleast three years service on the date of application of the year of admission in any of the above bodies/ service].

OR

(v)      He/she is a son/daughter of an employee of Central Government or Institutions of the Central Government including Public Sector Undertakings or Corporations situated in Rajasthan and who is permanent or has put in atleast three years continuous service provided that he has been serving in Rajasthan for atleast last 12 months on the date of the application.

(b)      A candidate must have passed the First year Science Examination of the Three Years Degree Course (Pass/Hons.) of a University in Rajasthan or the Higher Secondary Examination (Science) conducted by a Statutory Board at the end 12 years study under 10+2 pattern of Secondary Education or any other examination recognized by the University of Rajasthan as equivalent to its First Year TDC Science Examination in all the compulsory subjects and the optional subjects of the Medical Group (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) including English as one of the compulsory subjects.

OR

B.Sc examination of an Indian University recognized by the University of Rajasthan with not less than two of the following subjects-Physics; Chemistry; Botany and Zoology provided further that he has passed the earlier qualifying examination with the following subjects- Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.

(c)      He/she shall have to obtain atleast 50% marks at the Pre-Medical Test on the result of which above admission to the M.B.B.S. Course will be regulated. Candidates who have appeared at the aforesaid examination but the results are not declared before the commencement of the Pre-Medical Test may be given provisional admission to appear at the Pre-Medical Test. The natural born scheduled caste/tribe students may be given a relaxation of 10% in the minimum marks required in the Pre-Medical Test:

Provided further that the candidates for admission to the First M.B.B.S. Course must have attained the age of 17 years on or before 31st December. 1981.

Note :- 1. A candidate who has passed in the compulsory subjects of General Hindi and General English and the optional subjects of the Medical Group (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) of the First Year Examination of the Three years Degree Course in Science conducted by a University in Rajasthan shall be deemed to have passed the 1st year TDC Science Examination for the purpose of this rule:

2. In case sufficient number of SC/ST candidates are not available for filling the seal, reserved under rule 2(d), then a further relaxation of 5% in the minimum marks re ..1(sick) in the Pre-Medical Test may be given, provided that they have secured atleast 40% marks in the qualifying examination.

Rule - 4. Pre-Medical Test.

(A)     All candidates except those belonging to category (a)&(c) of rule-2 will have to appear at the Pre- Medical Test to be held by the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur in the subjects of Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. The candidate may obtain syllabus for the Pre-Medical Test Examination, application form for appearing at the examination and also application form for admission to the Medical College from the Registrar. University of Rajasthan. Forms and the syllabus can be had on payment of Rs.6/- only.

Application forms for P.M.T. Examination and for admission to the Medical College duly filled in by the candidate alongwith a fee of Rs.35/- will be sent directly to the Registrar, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur as per the notification of the University. This fee will also cover the fee for the marks-sheet. The eligible candidates will be admitted in the order of merit.

(B)     No application for admission will be considered unless it is accompanied by the following:

(i)       Attested true copy of the marks-sheet of the qualifying examination of the concerned University/Board.

(ii)      Attested true copy of the High School/Higher Secondary certificate.

(iii)     Certificates/Undertakings in the prescribed forms appended to these rules:-

(a)      Certificate of eligibility for admission.

(b)      Certificate from the Principal of College/Head of the Institution last attended.

(c)      Parent/Guardian's certificate.

(d)      Certificate regarding Scheduled Caste/Tribe, if applicable.

(e)      Certificate regarding migration, if applicable.

Note :- All the original certificates and the marks-sheet must be brought at the time of interview.

(C)     Any application received after the prescribed date or incomplete in any respect shall be rejected,

(D)     (1) The eligible candidates will be admitted in the order of merit for the general as well as reserved seats (excepting the seats belonging to category (a) and (c) of rule 2 judged on the basis of marks secured at the Pre- Medical Test.

(2) Candidates securing equal number of marks in the Pre-Medical Test, will be admitted in the following order of preference:-
