In exercise of the powers conferred by section 27
of the Sikkim Armed Police Force Act, 1981 (8 of 1981), the State Government
hereby makes the following rules to amend the Sikkim Armed Police Force
(Organisation, Training, Uniform and Miscellaneous Provisions) Rules, 1989,
namely:- (1) These rules may be called the Sikkim Armed Police Force (Organisation,
Training, Uniform and Miscellaneous Provisions) Amendment Rules, 2001. (2) They shall come into force at once. In the Sikkim Armed Police Force (Organisation,
Training, Uniform and Miscellaneous Provisions) Rules, 1989, hereinafter
referred to as the said rules, rule 31 shall be renumbered as sub-rule (1) of
that rule and after sub-rule (1) as so renumbered, the following shall be
inserted, namely:- "(2) Metal/cloth badges consisting of Sikkim Armed
Police (IRB) in half inch block letter shall be worn at the base of shoulder
strap". In the said rules, in rule 35, after sub-rule (3),
the following shall be inserted, namely:- (4) The beret cap for India Reserve Battalion
shall be in green and army pattern. The cap badge will bear (IRB) letters below
an eagle with spread out wings on transparent metal. The crest sign and belt monogram
will be similar to that of SAP sign. However, letter IRB in bracket will be
