Senior Scientific Officer, Group-B (Gazetted) In The Directorate Of Industrial Safety & Health, (Recruitment) Rules, 2023

In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Maharashtra is hereby pleased to make the following rules regulating recruitment to the post of Senior Scientific Officer, Group-B (Gazetted), in the Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health, Maharashtra, under the administrative control of the Industries, Energy and Labour Department, Government of Maharashtra, namely :-

Rule - 1.

(1)     These rules may be called the Senior Scientific Officer, Group-B (Gazetted) in the Directorate of Industrial Safety & Health, (Recruitment) Rules, 2023.

(2)     These rules shall come into force on the date of publication of these rules in the Government Gazette.

Rule - 2.

In these rules unless the context requires otherwise,-

(a)      "Commission" means the Maharashtra Public Service Commission ;

(b)      "Directorate" means the Directorate of Industrial Safety & Health, Maharashtra under the administrative control of the Industries, Energy and Labour Department of the Government ;

(c)      "Eligibility for promotion" means the eligibility for promotion in accordance with the terms and conditions specified for promotion in rules, resolutions or orders issued by the General Administration Department of the Government, from time to time.

(d)      "Government" means the Government of Maharashtra.

Rule - 3.

Appointment to the post of Senior Scientific Officer, Group-B (Gazetted) in the Directorate, shall be made by promotion of a suitable person having eligibility for promotion and having not less than three years regular and continuous service on the post of Senior Chemist, Group-C in the Directorate on the basis of seniority, from amongst the persons holding the said post.

Rule - 4.

A person to be appointed to the post mentioned in rule 3 by promotion shall pass the Marathi and Hindi languages examinations as per the rules made in that behalf by the Government, from time to time, unless he has already passed or has been exempted from passing those examinations before getting promoted to the said post.

Rule - 5.

A person to be appointed to the post mentioned in rule 3 by promotion shall possess a certificate of Computer Operations prescribed by rules or orders issued in that behalf by the Government, from time to time, unless he has been exempted therefrom before being promoted to the said post.

Rule - 6.

The post of Senior Scientific Officer, Group-B (Gazetted) is on the establishment of the Directorate. Therefore, the person appointed to the said post shall be working in the Mumbai office of the Directorate only.

Rule - 7.

The terms and conditions specified by the Government, subsequent to the appointment of any Government Servant in any rules, orders or resolutions issued in this behalf by the Government, from time to time, shall also be applicable to the Government Servant.
