RULES, 2017 FOR THE POST OF ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN THE RAJIV GANDHI INSTITUTE
OF VETERINARY EDUCATION AND RESEARCH, PUDUCHERRY
PREAMBLE
In exercise of the powers conferred by the Rajiv Gandhi
Institute of Veterinary Education and Research in clause (n) of sub-rule (2) of
rule 11 of the Rules and Regulations of the Governing Body of the Pondicherry
Veterinary College Society and with the approval of the Government hereby makes
the following rules, regulating the method of recruitment to the post of
Assistant Professor in the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Veterinary Education and
Research, Puducherry, namely:--
Rule - 1. Short title and commencement.
(1) These
rules may be called the Recruitment Rules, 2017 for the post of Assistant
Professor in the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Veterinary Education and Research,
Puducherry.
(2) They shall
come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
Rule - 2. Number of posts, its classification, Pay Band and Grade Pay/Pay scale.
The number of said post, its classification, Pay Band and
Grade Pay/Pay Scale attached thereto, shall be as specified in column (2) to
(4) of the Schedule annexed hereto.
Rule - 3. Method of recruitment, age-limit and other qualifications.
The method of recruitment to the said posts, age-limit,
qualifications and other matters relating thereto, shall be as specified in
columns (5) to (12) of the said Schedule.
Rule - 4. Disqualifications.
No person,--
(a) who has
entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living; or
(b) who,
having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any
person, shall be eligible for appointment to the said posts:
Provided that the Board of Governors, may, if satisfied
that such marriage is permissible under the personal law applicable to such
person and the other party to the marriage and there are other grounds for so
doing, exempt any person from the operation of this rule.
Rule - 5. Power to relax.
Where the Board of Governors, is of the opinion, that it
is necessary or expedient so to do, may in consultation with the Department of
Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Personnel Wing, Government of Puducherry
and with the approval of the Government of Puducherry, by order and for reasons
to be recorded in writing relax any of the provisions of these rules with
respect to any class or category of persons.
Rule - 6. Saving.
Nothing in these rules shall affect the reservations,
relaxations in upper age-limit and other concessions required to be provided
for the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes and other special category of
persons in accordance with the orders issued by the Government from time to
time in this regard.

7. Educational and other qualifications required for

(i) Degree of B.V.Sc. and A.H/B.V.Sc. |

detailed hereunder with a minimum of 55% of marks (or an equivalent grade in
a point scale wherever grading system is followed).

(NET) or the Tamil Nadu-Puducherry Joint State Level Eligibility Test. |

India/State Veterinary Council. |

Note 1: Candidates who are or have been awarded Ph D.
Degree in accordance with the "University Grants Commission (Minimum
Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009,"
shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/JSLET. |

Note 2: A relaxation of 5% marks will be allowed, at
the Graduate and Master's level for SC/ST/Differently-abled (Physically and
Visually) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good
academic record. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade
in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of
5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the
qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedures. |

Note 3: A relaxation of 5% will be allowed from 55% to
50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have passed their Master's
Degree prior to 19-9-1991. |

(The period of deputation including the period of
deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this
appointment in the same or some other organisation or Departments of the
Central/State/Union Territory Government shall ordinarily not exceed three
years. The maximum age-limit for appointment by deputation shall be "Not
exceeding 56 years" on the closing date of receipt of applications). |
