Preamble - RAILWAY BOARD SECRETARIAT SERVICE (AMENDMENT) RULES, 2014 RAILWAY BOARD SECRETARIAT SERVICE (AMENDMENT) RULES, 2014 PREAMBLE In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution, the President hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Railway Board Secretariat Service Rules, 1969, namely:-- (1) These rules may be called the Railway Board Secretariat Service (Amendment) Rules, 2014. (2) They shall be deemed to have come into force from the 1st day of July, 2005. In rule 8 of the Railway Board Secretariat Service Rules, 1969, for sub-rule (3), the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely:-- "(3) Vacancies in Grade I shall be filled by promotion of regular officers of the Section Officers' Grade who have rendered not less than eight years approved service in that Grade and are included in that Select List for Grade 1 of the Service prepared under sub-rule (5)".
