Odisha Nursing Service (Methods Of Recruitment And Conditions Of Service) Amendment Rules, 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Odisha is pleased to make the following rules further to amend the Odisha Nursing Service (Methods of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2019, namely :-

Rule 1. Short Title and Commencement :-

(1)     These rules may be called the Odisha Nursing Service (Methods of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Amendment Rules, 2024.

(2)     They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Odisha Gazette.

Rule 2.

In the Odisha Nursing Service (Methods of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2019 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules) in Rule 9, in Clause(xi), for the words "have possessed valid Registration Certificates as on date of advertisement", the words "have possessed valid Registration or Renewal Certificates as on the date of submission of application form", shall be substituted.

Rule 3.

In the said rules, in rule 12,-

(i)       in sub-rule (1), for the words "Assistant Nursing Superintendent", the words "Senior Nursing Officer (SNO)", shall be substituted ; and

(ii)      for sub-rule (2), the following sub-rules shall be substituted ; namely :-

"(2) The gradation list of Nursing Officers shall be prepared by the Director, Nursing for consideration of their promotion to the level of Senior Nursing Officer (SNO) after consolidating the districtwise lists.

(3) The gradation list of Senior Nursing Officers (SNO) shall be prepared by the Director, Nursing for consideration of promotion to the level of Assistant Nursing Superintendents.

(4) The gradation list of the Assistant Nursing Superintendents (ANSs) and Deputy Nursing Superintendents (DNSs) shall be prepared by the Director, Nursing on the basis of gradation list prepared and finalised for Senior Nursing Officers (SNOs) and Assistant Nursing Superintendents (ANSs) respectively by the Director, Nursing.

(5) The gradation list of Nursing Superintendent, Deputy Director, Nursing and Joint Director, Nursing shall be prepared by the Administrative Department in consultation with the Director, Nursing by 1st January of every year".

Rule 4.

In the said rules, in Rule 13, in sub-rule (1), in Clause (A), for the words "Assistant Director, Nursing (Clinical), Deputy Director, Nursing (Clinical) and Joint Director, Nursing (Clinical)", the words "Nursing Superintendent, Deputy Director, Nursing and Joint Director, Nursing", shall respectively be substituted.

Rule 5.

In the said rules, in Rule 13. in sub-rule (1), in Clause (B), for the words, "Assistant Nursing Superintendent, Deputy Nursing Superintendent and Nursing Superintendent", the words "Senior Nursing Officer, Assistant Nursing Superintendent and Deputy Nursing Superintendent", shall respectively be substituted.

Rule 6.

In the said rules, for the Schedule appended thereto, the following shall be substituted, namely :-

+2 in the 10+2 System or its equivalent with Diploma in GNM of B.Sc. Nursing from any Medical College and Hospitals of the State or any other institutions duly recognized and approved by Indian Nursing Council.
