National Council for
Teacher Education (Regional Committees Territorial Jurisdiction) Regulations,
2020[1] [27th
January, 2020] In exercise of the powers
conferred by clause (o) of sub-section (2) of Section 32 read with sub-section
(7) of Section 20 of the National Council for Teacher Education Act, 1993 (73
of 1993), and in supersession of the National Council for Teacher Education
(Establishment, Location and Territorial Jurisdiction of the Regional
Committees) Regulations, 2017, except as respects things done or omitted to be
done before such supersession, the National Council for Teacher Education
hereby makes the following regulations, namely— (1) These regulations may be
called the National Council for Teacher Education (Regional Committees
Territorial Jurisdiction) Regulations, 2020. (2) They shall come into force
on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. The territorial
jurisdiction of the Regional Committees established under the provisions of
sub-section (1) of Section 20 of the National Council for Teacher Education
Act, 1993 shall be as under— Sl. No. Name of the Regional Committee Territorial Jurisdiction (1) (2) (3) 1. Eastern Regional Committee Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand,
Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Sikkim, Tripura and West
Bengal. 2. Western Regional Committee Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh,
Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Dadar and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. 3. Northern Regional Committee Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh,
Uttarakhand, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. 4. Southern Regional Committee Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu,
Telangana, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and Puducherry. [1] National Council for
