JOINT DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION IN THE
MAHARASHTRA EDUCATION SERVICE, GROUP A (EDUCATION EMPOWERMENT BRANCH)
RECRUITMENT RULES, 2018
PREAMBLE
In exercise of the
powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution of India and
in supersession of all existing rules, orders or instruments made in this
behalf, the Governor of Maharashtra is hereby pleased to make the following
rules, regulating recruitment to the Post of Joint Director of Education, in
the Maharashtra Education Service, Group-A (Education Empowerment Branch),
under the School Education and Sports Department of the Government of
Maharashtra, namely:
Rule - 1.
These rules may be called the "Joint
Director of Education in the Maharashtra Education Service, Group A (Education
Empowerment Branch) Recruitment Rules, 2018."
Rule - 2.
In these rules, unless the context requires
otherwise:
(a)
"Department"
means the Department of School Education and Sports of the Government of
Maharashtra;
(b)
"Government"
means the Government of Maharashtra;
(c)
"Joint
Director of Education (Education Empowerment Branch)" means the Joint
Director of Education (Education Empowerment Branch) in the Maharashtra
Education Service, Group-A and it includes the posts mentioned in the Schedule
"A" appended to these Rules;
(d)
"Principal
(Education Empowerment Branch)" means the Principal (Education Empowerment
Branch) in the Maharashtra Education Service, Group A and it includes the posts
mentioned in Schedule "B" appended to these Rules;
(e)
"Schedule"
means the Schedules appended to these Rules.
Rule - 3.
Appointment to the Joint Director of
Education in the Maharashtra Education Service, Group-A (Education Empowerment
Branch) shall be made by promotion of a suitable person on the basis of
merit-cum-seniority from amongst the persons holding the posts mentioned in
Schedule 'B' having not less three years of regular service in that post
Rule - 4.
A person appointed to the post shall be
required to pass the examinations in Hindi and Marathi languages according to
the rules made in that behalf, unless he has already passed or has been
exempted from passing those examinations.
Rule - 5.
A person appointed to the post shall possess
a Certificate in Computer Operation prescribed by the Directorate of
Information Technology, Government of Maharashtra, from time to time.
