Indian Nursing Council
(Nurse Practitioner in Midwifery (NPM) Program, Corrigendum), Regulations, 2020[1] [22nd
February, 2021] In exercise of the powers conferred
by sub-section (1) of Section 16 of the Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947
(XLVIII of 1947) as amended from time to time and in partial modification of
earlier Regulations dated 6th January, 2021, the Indian Nursing
Council hereby makes the following amendments to the Regulation namely:— (i)
These
Regulations may be called the Indian Nursing Council (Nurse Practitioner
in Midwifery (NPM) Program, Corrigendum), Regulations, 2020. (ii)
These
Regulations shall come into force from the date, the same is notified in the
Gazette of India. In the Gazette Notification
No. 4 dated 6th January, 2021, the following changes are
further effected:— S. No. Regulation No. For Read 1 7.3.1 (1) The Government (State/Center/Autonomous) nursing
teaching institution offering degree programs in nursing having
parent/affiliated Government Hospital facilities of maternity, and neonatal
units along with primary, secondary and tertiary health care facilities. OR Other Non-Govt. nursing teaching institution
offering degree programs in nursing having parent hospital facilities of
maternity and neonatal units along with primary, secondary and tertiary
health care facilities. The Government (State/Center/Autonomous) and
other Non-Government nursing teaching institution offering degree programs in
nursing having parent and affiliated Government Hospital facilities of
maternity, and neonatal units along with primary, secondary and tertiary
health care facilities as given in 7.3.4. OR Super Specialty hospital having clinical
facilities as given in 7.3.4 are eligible. OR Other Non-Govt. nursing teaching institution
offering degree programs in nursing having parent hospital facilities of
maternity and neonatal units along with primary, secondary and tertiary
health care facilities. 2 7.3.1 (2) The eligible institution shall get recognition
from the concerned SNRC for starting the Nurse Practitioner in Midwifery
program for the particular academic year, which is a mandatory requirement. The eligible institution shall get recognition
from the concerned State Nursing Council and State Nursing Board for starting
the NPM program for the particular academic year, which is a mandatory
requirement. 3 7.3.1 (3) The Council will conduct inspection for two
consecutive years for continuation of the permission to conduct the program. The Council shall after the receipt of the above
documents/proposal would then conduct statutory inspection of the recognized
training nursing institution under Section 13 of the INC Act, 1947 in order
to assess the suitability with regard to the availability of the teaching
faculty, clinical and infrastructural facilities in conformity with
Regulations framed under the provision of the INC Act, 1947. 4 7.3.2 (1) NMP Faculty: M.Sc. Nursing with
OBG/Pediatrics/Community health nursing Specialty or B.Sc. (Nursing) with NPM
educator training. NPM Faculty: M.Sc. Nursing with
OBG/Pediatrics/Community health nursing Specialty or B.Sc. (Nursing) with NPM
educator training. 5 10. (A) Title-Nurse Practitioner in Midwifery (NPM) Title-Nurse Practitioner in Midwifery (NPM) Post
