GUJARAT SAFETY OFFICERS DUTIES, QUALIFICATIONS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE (AMENDMENT) RULES, 2022

PREAMBLE

WHEREAS certain draft rules were published as required by sub-section (1) of section 115 of the Factories Act, 1948 at pages 114-1 to 114-2 in the Gujarat Government Gazette, Extra ordinary, Part IV-B, dated the 3rd June, 2022, under the Government Notification, Labour, Skill Development and Employment Department, No. GHR/2022/50/FAC/2005/2350/M3, dated the 21st April, 2022 inviting objection or suggestion from all persons likely to be affected thereby, before the expiry of forty five days from the date of publication of the said notification in the Official Gazette;

AND WHEREAS, no objection or suggestion has been received by the Government in respect of the said draft notification;

NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 112 read with sub-section (2) of section 40 B of the Factories Act, 1948 (63 of 1948), the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Gujarat Safety Officers Duties, Qualifications and Conditions of Service Rules, 1983, namely:

Rule - 1.

These rules may be called the Gujarat Safety Officers Duties, Qualifications and Conditions of Service (Amendment) Rules, 2022.

Rule - 2.

In the Gujarat Safety Officers Duties, Qualifications and Conditions of Service Rules, 1983, in rule 3, in sub-rule (ii),-

(i)       in clause (b), after the words "Vallabh Vidhyanagar, Gujarat", the word ",or;" shall be added;

(ii)      after clause (b), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:-

"(c) Master degree or Diploma in Industrial Safety obtained from the "Kaushalya" the Skill University, Labour, Skill Development and Employment Department, Government of Gujarat or any other College/Institution affiliated to the "Kaushalya" the Skill University, Labour, Skill Development and Employment Department, Government of Gujarat.".
