Gujarat Panchayat Services (Class-III), Departmental Examination (Amendment) Rules, 2023

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (5) of section 227 read with section 274 of the Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1993 (Guj. 18 of 1993), the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Gujarat Panchayat Services (Class-III), Departmental Examination Rules, 2022, namely:-

Rule - 1.

(1)     These rules may be called the Gujarat Panchayat Services (Class-III), Departmental Examination (Amendment) Rules, 2023.

(2)     They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

Rule - 2.

In the Gujarat Panchayat Services (Class-III), Departmental Examination Rules, 2022, (hereinafter referred to as "the said rules"), in rule 9,-

(i)       in sub-rule (2), for the words, brackets and figures "sixty percent (60%)", the words, brackets and figures "fifty percent (50%)" shall be substituted;

(ii)      after sub-rule (2), the following sub-rule shall be added, namely:-

"(3) If the candidate has obtained less than fifty marks in any one paper out of four papers and secures fifty or more than fifty marks in three other papers, in such circumstances, maximum five (5) gracing marks shall be given and he shall be declared pass in the examination".

Rule - 3.

In the said rules, in Appendix-C,-

(i)       in Part-I (Lower Level Departmental Examination), for Paper-I, the following Paper shall be substituted, namely:-

"Paper-I Gujarati Language Marks:100, Duration:3 Hours without Books, Descriptive.

(ii)      in Part-II (Higher Level Departmental Examination), for Paper-I, the following Paper shall be substituted, namely:-

"Paper-I Gujarati Language and General Subject Marks:100, Duration: 3 Hours, without Books, Descriptive.
