FOREST
GUARD IN THE DEPARTMENT OF FORESTS & WILDLIFE RECRUITMENT RULES, 2016
PREAMBLE
In exercise or the powers conferred by the
proviso of article 309 of the Constitution of India, read with Government of
India, Ministry of Home Affairs Notification No. 27/59-Him (i) dated the 13th
July, 1959 and in supersession of notification No. F.57(6)/DEV./HQ/93/4216-20
dated the 14th June, 1994 and F.4(421)/HQ/Estt./RR-FG/2010/8182-88 dated the
23rd March, 2012 for the post of Forest Guard; the Lt. Governor of National
Capital Territory of Delhi, hereby makes the following rules regulating the
method of recruitment to the post of Forest Guard in the Department of Forests
and Wildlife, Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, namely:
Rule - 1. Short Title and commencement.
These Rules may be called the Forest Guard in
the Department of Forests & Wildlife Recruitment Rules, 2016.
They shall come into effect on the date of
their publications in the Official Gazette.
Rule - 2. No. of Posts, it's classification, pay band and grade pay/scale of pay.
The number of post and its classification and
pay band and the grade pay scale of pay attached thereto shall be as specified
in columns 2 to 4 of the Schedule annexed to these rules.
Rule - 3. Method of Recruitment, Age Limit, and other Qualifications etc.
The method of recruitment, age limit,
qualification and other matters relating to the said post shall be as specified
in columns 5 to 13 of the said Schedule.
Rule - 4. Disqualification.
No person,
(a)
Who
has entered into or contracted a married with a person having a spouse, or
(b)
Who,
having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any
person, shall be eligible for this said post:
Provided that the Government may, if
satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personal law applicable
to such persons and the other party to the marriage and that there are other
grounds for doing so, exempt any person from the operation of this rule.
Rule - 5. Power to relax.
Where the Government is of the opinion that
if necessary or expedient to do so, he may, by order and for reasons to be
recorded in writing relax any of the provisions of these rules with respect to
any class or category of persons.
Rule - 6. Saving.
Nothing in these rules shall affect
reservations, relaxation of age limit and other concessions required to be
provided for the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled tribes and other special
categories of persons in accordance with the orders issued by the Central
Government from time to time in this regard.

examination passed from a recognized board. Desirable: Knowledge of Hindi. Physical Standards: Male Candidates-Height 163 cms Chest 84 cms Expansion 5 cms. Female Candidates-Height 150 cms

candidates and races such as Assamese, Bhutanese, Garwalies, Gorkhas,
Kumaonise Ladakhese, Mizo, Naga, Nepalese Sikkimiese and those from Arunachal
Pradesh, Lahaul & Spiti, Megalaya: Male 152 cms Female 140 cms Note: Male and female candidates must
pass a physical test covering a distance of 25 and 16 KM respectively on foot
