Preamble - E-WASTE (MANAGEMENT AND HANDLING) AMENDMENT RULES, 2015 E-WASTE (MANAGEMENT AND HANDLING) AMENDMENT RULES, 2015 PREAMBLE In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 6, 8 and 25 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules to amend the e-waste (Management and Handling) Rules, 2011, namely:-- (1) These rules may be called the e-waste (Management and Handling) Amendment Rules, 2015. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. In the e-waste (Management and Handling) Rules, 2011, (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), in rule 13,-- (i) in sub-rule (3), for the words "components of electrical and electronic equipment manufactured or placed in the market six years before the date of commencement of these rules", the following words and figures shall be substituted, namely:-- "electrical and electronic equipment and their components manufactured and placed in the market prior to 1st May, 2014"; (ii) in sub-rule (4), for the words "the detailed information on the constituents of the equipment shall be provided in the product information booklet", the following words and figures shall be substituted, namely:-- "a declaration shall be provided in the product user documentation to the effect that product complies with e-waste (Management and Handling) Rules, 2011"; (iii) in sub-rule (7), for the words "achieved within a period of two years from the date of commencement of these rules", the words and figures "effective from 1st May, 2014", shall be substituted. in the said rules, in Schedule II, for serial numbers 2(a)(1) and 2(a)(2) and the entries relating thereto, the following serial numbers and entries shall be substituted, namely:-- 2(a)(1) Tri-band phosphor with normal life time and a tube diameter =9 mm (e.g. T2): 4 mg 2(a)(2) Tri-band phosphor with normal life time and a tube diameter > 9 mm and = 17 mm (e.g. T5): 3 mg
