PREAMBLE

An Act To repeal the Dowry Prohibition (Bihar Amendment) Act. 1975, (Bihar Act 4, 1976).

Be It enacted by the legislature of the State of Bihar in the sixty ninth year of the Republic of India as follows:-

 

Section 1 - Short title, extent and commencement

(1)     This Act may be called the Dowry Prohibition (Bihar Amendment) (Repeal) Act, 2018

 

(2)     It shall extend to the whole of the State of Bihar.

 

(3)     It shall come into force at once.

 

Section 2 - Repeal of the Dowry Prohibition (Bihar Amendment) Act, 1975 (Bihar Act 4, 1976)

The Dowry Prohibition (Bihar Amendment) Act, 1975. (Bihar Act 4 of 1976) is hereby repealed.

 

Section 3 - Saving

Notwithstanding such repeal anything done or any action taken or any proceeding initiated under the said Act, 1975 shall not be affected
