PREAMBLE
In exercise of the powers conferred by clauses (d) and (e) of sub-section (2) of section 24 of the Coinage Act, 2011 (11 of 2011), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely:-
Rule 1 - Short title and commencement
(1) These rules may be called the coinage of One Hundred Fifty Rupees and Five Rupees coins to commemorate the occasion of "150th Birth Anniversary of Motilal Nehru" Rules, 2012.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
Rule 2 - Rule 2
(a) The coins of the following denominations shall be coined at the Mint for issue under the authority of the Central Government to commemorate the occasion of "150th Birth Anniversary of Motilal Nehru", namely:-
(i) One Hundred Fifty Rupees;
(ii) Five Rupees;
(b) the coins of the above denominations shall conform to the following dimensions, designs and composition, namely:-

DESIGN
1. ONE HUNDRED FIFTY RUPEES
OBVERSE
The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the centre with the legend "lR;eso t;rs" inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word "Hkkjr" in Devnagri script and on the right periphery flanked with the word "INDIA" in English. It shall also bear the Rupee symbol"`" and denominational value "150" in International Numerals below the Lion Capitol.
REVERSE
The face of the coin shall bear the picture of "Motilal Nehru" in the centre, with inscription "eksrhyky usg: dh 150oha t;arh" in Devnagri script on the upper periphery and "150th BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF MOTILAL NEHRU" in English on the lower periphery. The year "2012" shall be inscribed below the picture of Motilal Nehru.
2. FIVE RUPEES
OBVERSE
The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the centre with the legend "lR;eso t;rs" inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word "Hkkjr" in Devnagri script and on the right periphery flanked with the word "INDIA" in English. It shall also bear the Rupee symbol ` and denominational value "5" in International Numerals below the Lion Capitol.
REVERSE
The face of the coin shall bear the picture of "Motilal Nehru" in the centre, with inscription "eksrhyky usg: dh 150oha t;arh" in Devnagri script on the upper periphery and "150th BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF MOTILAL NEHRU" in English on the lower periphery. The year "2012" shall be inscribed below the picture of Motilal Nehru.
Rule 3 - Standard weight and remedy allowed
The standard weight of the coins of the following denominations, coined to commemorate the "150th BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF MOTILAL NEHRU" and the remedy allowed in making of such coins shall be as specified in the following Table, namely: -

Five Rupees

1/100th plus or minus for Copper and Zinc, that is to say, Copper could vary from 74% to 76% and Zinc from 19% to 21% and 1/200th plus or minus for Nickel that is to say Nickel could vary from 4.5% to 5.5%.
1/40th plus or minus that is to say, the weight could vary from 5.85 grams to 6.15 grams.
