PREAMBLE In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the
Constitution of India, the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following
rules:? The rules hereby made shall be deemed to have come into force on the 9th
December 1998. The General and Special rules applicable to the holders of the permanent post
in the Tamil Nadu Agricultural Service shall apply to the holder of the
temporary post of the Deputy Director of Sugar (Technical) in the Ofice of the
Commissioner of Sugar, subject to the modification specified in the following
rules:? The post shall constitute a distinct class in the said
service. Appointment to the post shall be made by promotion from
among the holders of the post of Assistant Director of Sugar (Technical) in the
Department of Sugar. No person shall be eligible for appointment to the post,
unless he has worked as Assistant Director of Sugar (Technical) in the
Department of Sugar for a period of not less than three years. The holder of the post shall be paid a monthly pay calculated in
the scale of pay of Rs. 10,000-325-15,200.
