1. Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner has moved an application for grant of arms license on 14.12.2018 after completing all the requisite formalities. It has further been submitted that despite the report submitted by the Police, respondent no. 2 i.e. District Magistrate, Lucknow is not taking any decision on the application of the petitioner.

2. After arguing at some length, learned counsel for the petitioner has confined his prayer to the extent that that a direction may be issued to the respondent no. 2 to take a decision on the application preferred by the petitioner for grant of arms license within a stipulated time frame as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper.

3. Learned Standing Counsel has no objection to the confined prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner.

4. Considering the prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner and without entering into the merit of the case, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent no. 2 i.e. District Magistrate, Lucknow to consider and decide the application preferred by the petitioner dated 14.12.2018 in accordance with law within a period of two months from the date of certified copy of this order is served.
